Warehouse configuration

Warehouse layoutRacking management is an important part of controlling a warehouse. By uniquely identifying each bay, column and row the system will know the precise location of each stock item.

Directed operations using barcode scanners will ensure that staff are in the correct location for picking, putting away, moving stock or performing stock checks.

As part of the WMS implementation process the physical dimensions of your racking will be entered into the WMS via the easy-to-use racking configurator.

Capacity, size, weight, storage options and specialist rules are then applied to the layout. These rules ensure that only the correct product(s) can be put into each bay location - the system will not allow invalid products to be added to the wrong bay.

Bays can be designated as picking bays (containing loose products), pallet bays or a combination of both. Auto-replenishment rules and threshold can be established so that once stock levels reach a low value, new stock can be added to top up the levels.

The racking configurator can easily accommodate any changes to the warehouse layout, for example increasing a bay dimensions or adding additional racking.  All stock operations are logged to enable auditing to be performed at any time to identify product movements or determine requirements for staff training.
